ANSON COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Mildred Kirby Colson, 19 Dec 1844 ----¤¤¤¤---- Anson County, NC Will Book B, p. 195 - 196 WR 19 Dec 1844 PR April term 1845 I Mildred COLSON of the County of Anson and State of North Carolina Being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existance do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first that my Executors hereinafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts however and to whomever owing out of the monies that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate. Item. I give and bequeath unto my eldest daughter Elizabeth ROBINSON wife of James H. ROBINSON one negro girl by the name of Frances to dispose of as she thinks proper. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Charity ROBINSON, wife of Arthur A. ROBINSON one negro girl by the name of Mary Jane to dispose of as she may think proper. Item. I give and bequeath unto my eldest son Jacob H. COLSON one negro boy by the name of Jacob to have and to hold during his natural life and at his death to be equally divided between his heirs. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas K. COLSON four negroes by the names of Aaron, Jane, Sarah and Edmond. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son John J. COLSON four negroes by the names of Ned, Mary, Ellen and Clem together with the tract of land I now live on containing about 308 acres and all of my interests in all of the lands belonging to the Estate and all of my household and kitchen furniture. I also will and desire that if Thomas K. COLSON or John J. COLSON should die before they arrive to the full age of twenty one that the [word missing?] then shall have the whole of the property that I have above given to them. Item. And whereas my son Thomas K. COLSON is a minor Page 196 of the age of about nineteen and my youngest son John J. COLSON is about sixteen now therefore my will and desire is that my son in law James H. ROBINSON is hereby constituted and appointed Guardian of these my two sons to have and to hold the custody and Guardianship both of these respective persons and estate until they the said Thomas K. COLSON and John J. COLSON shall severally arrive at the full age of twenty one years and I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend Jno. TYSON, Jr. and my son Jacob H.
