Calvary Companies Of Ashe And Cabarrus
The Weekly Standard of Raleigh, N. C. July 3, 1861

Two Calvary Companies Rendezvous
CAPTAIN CRUMPLER of Ashe County, and CAPTAIN RUFUS BARRINGER of Cabarrus 
County, have raised two fine companies of Calvary in their respective counties.
They rendezvous at Asheville.
