Surnames appearing in the document: BABER?, CALLOWAY, FAW, PANE Elijah Calloway Sr. Will In the name of God Amen I Elijah Calloway Sen'r of the County of Ashe & State of North Carolina being of sound mind & memory but knowing the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do this day make ordain and constitute this my last will & Testament as follows. Item first. I submit my Spirit to God that gave it & my body to be buried in a simple plain manner without pomp or parade. 2n'd. I give unto my beloved wife Mary, Negroes Moses Grace Jack & Harriet & their children during her life, & after her death they are to be equally divided among all my children & if they cannot be divided otherwise they are to be sold at [-?-] sale, but there is to be no bidders but the Heirs. 3rd I give to my two beloved sons Benjamin Cleaveland Calloway & Thomas S. Calloway the 200 acre Tract whereon I now live & the 50 acre tract called the wagon ford tract & the ?0 acres called the Ivory Shoal tract & the 200 acres called the Old Pane tract known by the name of the big Meadows Tract & 100 acre Tract adjoining the Old Pane Tract. 4th I give unto my beloved son Elijah Calloway Jun'r 200 [acre] tract known by the name of the slide fork of Obids Creek Tract.
