Jacob married Rachel Shoun, 4 April 1844, in Mountain City, Tennessee. Transcribed by Kyle R. Graybeal from a photocopy of the document on file in Will Book E, page 420 at the Ashe County Court House, Jefferson, North Carolina. Surnames appearing in the will: BOWER, GRAYBEAL, PARKER WILL OF JACOB GRAYBEAL Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Graybeal being of sound mind and memory but knowing the uncertainty of this life do make and declare this my last will and testament. Item first I will my body to God who gave it Item second I will that my Executor gives my body a decent burial. Item third I desire that all my Just debts be paid. After this is done I will and bequeath all of my property of whatever description I may have at the time of my death to T. J. Parker and his wife Alice (my daughter) Provided that the said T. J. Parker & wife Alice continue to live with me and my beloved wife Rachel and during the life of the survivor and takes care of us in sickness and health in the manner we have been use to. Item fourth the said T. J. Parker and wife Alice is to board & cloth us and take care of us as herein before stated and in case they do so I declare this my last will and testament and otherwise not. That I will all the property I may have at the time of my death to T. J. Parker and his wife Alice with the same conditions as are set set [sic] out in my beloved husband's will this day made.
