It was learned that Wallace was arrested while intoxicated and the officers later recognized him as the man wanted for the slaying of Oliver. Oliver and Wallace had quarreled on Christmas day when the former is said to have attacked Wallace with a knife. The following day they met on the highway and Oliver was shot to death, it is alleged.
