Berry Eva Spaller Berry, 91, 2909 S. Greenwood Drive, Johnson City, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, in Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Avery County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Martha Ramsey Spaller. Mrs. Berry was a member of King Springs Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was a 1933 graduate of Science Hill High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Berry in 1998; a brother, Albert Spaller, and a sister-in-law, Dora Spaller. Mrs. Berry played the piano for many Baptist churches. Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Jack and Shirley Berry of Elizabethton; and two granddaughters, Martha Peterson of Hampton and Jackie Reece and her husband, Darrell, of Elizabethton; four great-grandchildren, Danny and Matthew Peterson of Knoxville, Danielle Denton of New York and Summer Reece of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Horace Bowers and the Rev. Jerry Cornett officiating. Graveside and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005, in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Judy Deloach and employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel prior to the service hour. Friends may also call at the residence of her son, 508 Sabine Street, Elizabethton, at any time. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday for the interment service.
