Burleson widow of the late C.W. Burleson died at her home at Plumtree last Sunday evening at 9 o’clock. Services were held from the Yellow Mountain church and burial made in the Yellow Mountain cemetery on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Surviving are six sons and two daughters. The sons are Dr. Will, Henry, Sam and Frank who are living at Plumtree; and Robert and Jake of Spruce Pine. The two daughters are Mrs. Potter Brown whose summer home is at Linville Falls and Mrs. Joda Brown who lives at Erwin Tenn. The deceased who was nearly ninety years old had lived in this section of the state all her life, being a daughter of Colonel English of pioneer days and a maker of history in this section. She died after a brief sickness of a few days, having been able in mind and body until that time.
