MARY PAULINE BURLESON 

SPRUCE PINE - Mary Pauline Burleson, 90, of Oakridge Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 
14, 2007 at Brian Center of Spruce Pine. A native of Avery County, she was the 
daughter of the late M.P. and Clora Cuthbertson Buchanan, and wife of the late 
Homer T. Burleson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Ruth 
Burleson. She was a member of Henson Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gary M. Burleson and Earl Ray Burleson, both of 
Spruce Pine; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Burial was in Mt. Zion Methodist Church 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour 
Tuesday at the funeral home.
