AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Carlene Buchanan, 17 Dec 2003

NEWLAND – Carlene Buchanan, 78, of Henson Creek, died Wednesday, 
Dec. 17, 2003 in a Banner Elk rest home. She was the daughter of 
the late Geter and Hallie Houston Johnson, and wife of the late 
Harold Buchanan.
Survivors include her son, Lee Buchanan of Winston-Salem; a sister, 
Bess Reedy of Spruce Pine; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff 
Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Jim White 
officiated. Burial was in Yellow Mountain Cemetery.
