AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Edith Benfield, 16 Dec 2003

NEWLAND – Edith Benfield, 90, of Tennant Road, died Tuesday, 
Dec. 16, 2003 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the 
daughter of the late Charlie and Maude Ollis Farthing, and 
wife of the late Ted Benfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jonas of Hickory, and 
Willa McFalls of Newland; sons, Billy Benfield of Salisbury, 
Bruce Benfield of Hendersonville, and Bobby Benfield of 
Johnson City, TN; nine grandchildren; and eight great 
grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Crossnore 
Baptist Church Cemetery.
