AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Zula Houston Biddix, 26 Dec 2004

NEWLAND - Zula Houston Biddix, 73, of Henson Creek Road, died Sunday, 
Dec. 26, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter 
of the late Thomas Wesley and Hettie Marcus Houston, and wife of the 
late Beeler Biddix. A retired medical secretary, she was a member of 
Vance Memorial Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy Dillingham of Inman, SC; three sons, 
Dale Biddix of Newland, Mike Biddix of Gaffney, SC, and Tommy Biddix of 
Monroe; two sisters, Lois Gunter of Spruce Pine, and Lillian Kelso of 
Farmington, MI; two brothers, Joe Houston of Sweetwater, TN, and Thomas 

Clay Houston of Newland; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Vance Memorial Methodist 
Church. Revs. Kim Higgins and David Hobson officiated. Burial was in Houston 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral 
Home in Spruce Pine.
