KATHLEEN BURLESON
NEWLAND – Kathleen Burleson, 86, died Tuesday, June 18, 2002 in a Linville 
hospital. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Edna Norman Wiseman, and 
wife of the late Grover Burleson. She was a member of Pine Grove United 
Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Peggy Duncan of Waynesville; a sister, Juanita 
Smith of Elizabethton TN; one grandson; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. R.M. Cassity officiated. 
Burial was in Green Valley Cemetery. The family received friends from 3 p.m. 
until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.
