LUCY TAYLOR BURLESON

 NEWLAND - Lucy Taylor Burleson, 76, of Little Buck Hill Road, 
died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at his home. He was the son of the 
late George and Lula Hester Taylor. She was also preceded in 
death by brothers, Edd, Charlie, Warren, Henry, Hal and Gary 
Taylor, and sisters, Martha Lowder and Nina Ollis. A member of 
Big Crabtree Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 
over 50 years, she was a press operator at Tarheel and Spruce 
Pine Mica. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Big Crabtree 
Baptist Church. Revs. Dan Honeycutt and Junior Carver officiated. 
Emtombment followed at Bear Creek Mausoleum. The family received 
friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville.
