She was daughter of Arthur Blain Oakes and wife Ethel Lee Oakes, both
deceased.
Survivors are daughters Sandra Grist Helton of Bedford, TX, Deborah Ann
Grist Houston of Glade Valley, son Samuel Grist of Hillsboro, NC,
step-daughters Genny Braswell of Martinsville, VA, Janell Braswell Huffman
of Roanoke, VA, step-son Louie G. Braswell of Roan Mountain, TN, sister
Mabel Oakes February of Elk Park, Avery Co, 14 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
