Annie N. Cannon 


    Annie Norman Cannon, 99, of Banner Elk died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in the 
Life Care Center of Banner Elk. Daughter of the late James Arthur and Ellen 
Eller Norman she was a member of the Elk Valley Baptist Church. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Cannon; two sons, James 
Charles Cannon and Samuel Thomas Cannon; and one daughter, Mildred Cannon 
Cook. 


    Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Cannon Dugger and husband Jim of 
Elizabethton; three sons, Clarence Cannon and wife Betty of Johnson City, 
Bobby Cannon and wife Lucy of Raleigh, N.C. and Richard Paul Cannon and wife 
Anna of Statesville, N.C. and a brother, Herman Tate Norman of Oak Ridge. She 
is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-
great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 


    Funeral services for Mrs. Cannon will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 
31, in the Elk Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Harvey Presnell 
officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
