She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Florence Ledford, and wife of the late Charles Dellinger. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar, Samuel, Lee, Ted and Charles Ledford; and three sisters, Bernice Huskins, Georgia Sparks, and Lucille Ledford. She enjoyed quilting, as well as cooking and baking. Survivors include three sons, Jack Dellinger, Tommy Dellinger and Jimmy Dellinger, all of Spruce Pine; daughters, Joyce Dayton and Patsy Carpenter, both of Spruce Pine, Shirley Gragg of Newland, and Sue Spivey of Weaverville; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mount Calvary Freewill Baptist Church in Avery County. Revs. Brett Jones and Allen Laws officiated. Burial followed in Harris Memorial Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Avery County Hospice. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine assisted the family.
