LULA DELLINGER

NEWLAND - Lula Dellinger, 84, of the Henson Creek community, died 
Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at her home. A native of Mitchell County, she 
was the daughter of the late Joe and Estie Buchanan Ward, and wife 
of the late Paul Dellinger.
Survivors include a daughter, Lee Ella Burleson of Newland; sisters, 
Barbara Hylemon of Spruce Pine, Una Burleson of Marion, and Mae Phillips 
of Banner Elk; brothers, Linzie Ward of Bakersville, and Warfield Ward 
of Newland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Earl Carver Jr. and 
Gerald Grindstaff officiated. Burial followed in Pitman Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeal home.
