Robert Garland 


    Robert Garland, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away on Dec. 26, 2007, at Ivy 
Hall Nursing Home. Born in Avery County, N.C., he was the son of the late 
Willard and Bessie Church Garland. 


    He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Heatherly. 


    Mr. Garland is survived by a special niece, Sherry Carrier; a brother, 
Jess Garland; a nephew, John Nave; and great-nephews, Brandon, Tyler and 
Nathaniel Carrier and Brett Nave; and several other nieces and nephews. 


    It was Mr. Garland's wish to donate his body to the James H. Quillen 
School of Medicine. 


    Friends are welcome to visit the home of Sherry Carrier or call her at 474-
3487. 


    Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, is in charge of the arrangements.
