She was the daughter of the late Ira and Hettie Pitman Ingram, and wife of the late Brown Goforth. She was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Woody of Ingalls; a son, Bill Goforth of Newland; a sister, Florence Rempe of Argyle, IO; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Rev. Earl Carver, Jr. officiated. Burial was in Yellow Mountain Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
