AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Dean Allen Green, 7 Feb 2004

Dean Allen Green, 70, Smalling Road, Johnson City, died Saturday, 
February 7, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Green was a native of Avery County, N.C., and a son of the late 
Claude and Mabel McGuire Green.
Mr. Green was a graduate of Cranberry High School. Elk Park, N.C. He 
had lived in Detroit for 25 years before returning to Carter County 
in 1988. He was a retired safety technician with the Chrysler Corporation 
of Detroit and had been an employee of the AmeriSource Corporation for 
a number of years.
Mr. Green was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air 
Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Cook Green; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn 
Green, of the home; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernice and Dee 
Mitchell, Elk Park, N.C., and Gail and Wade Phillips, Charlotte, N.C.; 
and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Louise Green, Atlanta, Ga., 
and Wayne and Carline Green, Elk Park, N.C. Several nieces and nephews 
also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, February 9, at Memorial 
Funeral Chapel with Mr. Benny Hagie and Mr. Kenneth Jones officiating. 
Music was provided by the Chariott Trio. Graveside services and interment 
will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, in the Flat Springs Cemetery, 
Elk Park, N.C. Active pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers 
will be employees of the AmeriSource Corporation. The family received 
friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also call 
at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 
a.m. Tuesday. Condolences may be e-mailed to the Green Family at
