Beatrice F. Greer 

Mrs. Beatrice "Bea" Fields Greer, 84, Rolling Road, Burlington, N.C., died 
Sunday evening, June 26, 2005, at her home. 

Mrs. Greer was a native of Elk Park, N.C., and was married for 63 years to 
the late Elige Greer. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Fields. 
She graduated from Lees-McRae College in 1941. 

Mrs. Greer and her husband lived in Tennessee and Baltimore, Md., before moving 
to Burlington. She worked for many years with her husband for the West Bend 
Company and Regal Corporation. She also worked in her home and raised two 
children. She was a caring, compassionate friend to her neighbors on Rolling 
Road where she lived for 50 years. She treated others fairly and honestly and 
will be remembered by her friends and family for her love and generous spirit. 

Survivors include a daughter, Ms. Sara Gray, McLeansville, N.C.; a son, Kirk 
Greer, Burlington, N.C.; four grandchildren, Ryan and Sam Gray and Randi and 
Michael Greerand a sister, Faye Emerson, Elk Park, N.C. 

The graveside service for Mrs. Greer will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, in the 
Greer Family Cemetery, Roan Mountain, with Dr. Paul Humphrey officiating. 
Those attending will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in 
procession to the cemetery. Music will be provided by Jon Shell, bagpiper. 
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will 
receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, in the Rhododendron 
Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain. Friends may call at the 
residence of a sister-in-law, Marie Barnett, at other times.

arrangements.
