All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Faye Williams fw4766@gmail.com July 29, 2012, 8:48 pm Avery Advocate November 27, 1930 Mrs. M.Lynch Hall Church Leader Laid To Rest Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Plumtree Presbyterian church for Mrs. Margaret Lynch Hall, who passed away suddenly Saturday morning at the home of her son Joseph Porter Hall at Plumtree where she had made her home during her later years and where her son had started and headed the Plumtree Boys School, preaching n the Presbyterian church which his mother and he had been instrumental in building. Mrs. Hall is buried in the shadow of the church of which they call her the mother. Mrs. Hall, who is the last of a family of nine brothers and sisters was born, in Petersburg, Va., where she married Mr. Thomas Porter Hall. Beside her son, she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Edgar Tufts of Banner Elk, Five grandchildren, Edgar Hall Tufts, President of the Edgar Tufts Memorial association; Miss Margaret Tufts of Banner Elk and Elizabeth, Margaret and James Hall of Plumtree; and two great grandchildren, Anne Lois and Edgar Hall Tufts, Jr. of Banner Elk. Those taking part in the services were: Rev. Dan Graham of Blockville, Tenn., Rev. John Roe a graduate of the Plumtree school, pastor of a Presbyterian church in Kansas city, Rev. W. L. Smith of Banner Elk, and Rev. T.W. Clapp of Plumtree. The committal prayer was made by Rev. Roseborough of Spruce Pine.
