ARTHUR HAYES FINAL RITES HELD Mrs. Arthur Hayes died at her father’s home at Hanging Rock on July 9. Mrs. Hayes who was Miss Ada Banner belonged to one of the oldest families in the county, the family from which Banner Elk takes its name. Surviving Mrs. Hayes are her father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Ed Banner, four sisters, Miss Minnie Banner, Mrs. Huntley, Mrs. John Patton and Mrs. W. Williams; and four brothers, Bob, Lawrence, Joe and Bynum Banner. The funeral services were held from the home, the services being conducted by Rev. J.H. Jeffcoe of the Boone Lutheran church.
