BETTY SUE WATSON HISE 

SPRUCE PINE - Betty Sue Watson Hise, 71, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at her 
home. A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and 
Ruth Aldridge Watson and the wife of the late Howard Hise. She was also 
preceded in death by her brother, T.J. Watson and sisters, Clarice Wiseman, 
Bernice, Carol, and Barbara Watson.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Howard Hise of Spruce Pine; sisters, Beulah 
Young of Minneapolis, NC, Ruby Vaughn of Pineola, Linda W. McClellan of Spruce 
Pine and Faye Hughes of Linville; brothers, Sam Watson Jr. and Cecil Snyder, 
both of Spruce Pine, and Ralph Watson of Roan Mtn., Tenn.; and several nieces 
and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. The Revs. Zan Sistaire, Chris Renfro and 
Larry Greene officiated. Burial followed in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. 
The family received friends from noon until the service hour Sunday at the 
funeral home.
