JUNE GLADIS HOLDER 

BAKERSVILLE - June Gladis Holder, 71, of Highway 261, died Friday, Jan. 13, 
2006 at her daughter's home. A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of 
the late Henry and Donnie Buchanan Thomas, and wife of the late Eugene Holder. 
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hilda Briggs, Hazel Thomas and 
Alveretta Thomas; and three brothers, Ernest, Emmett and Arnold Thomas.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice Beneta Holder of Kings Springs, TN; two 
sisters, Joyce McKinney and Pansy Grindstaff, both of Newland; and two 
brothers, Tommy and Robert Thomas, both of Newland. 

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Ed Davis, Chris Nance and Daniel 
Nance officiated. Burial followed in Thomas Cemetery in Avery County. The 
family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
