AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Anna Rose Hayes, 9 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤¤---- Anna Rose Hayes, age 77, 770 Miles Field Road, Elk Park, N.C. died Tuesday December 9, 2003 at Charles A. Cannon Memorial Hospital, Linville, N.C.. A native of Vilas, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Hassie J. Dugger Fulkerson. She was a member of Upper Shell Creek Christian Church. She was member of Order of Eastern Star, Newland, N.C.. Mrs. Hayes was a retired employee of T.R.W and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Hayes and a sister. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda K. and Terry Blevins, Hampton; one grandson, Jonathan Blevins, Hampton; one sister, Lamonie Gardner, Roan Mountain; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and James Garland, Buck Mountain, N.C., and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain with Mr. Donald Kirby and Mr. Bedford Motley, ministers, officiating. A memorial service will be conducted by Mistress of the Mountain Order of Eastern Star Chapter #241, following the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 11, at Taylor's Chapel Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C.. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Richard Shell, Darrell Birchfield, Ricky Winters, Calvin Winters, Ricky Shell, Bobby Garland, Charles Clawson and Mike Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be J.L. Winters, Timmy Winters, Eddie Garland, James Garland, Sam Clawson, Allen Clawson, Tom Laws, Ron Turbyfield and the Staff of Roan Highlands Nursing Home. Special thanks to Dr. David P. Kimmel and Dr. Alfred Earwood.
