FRANK HINTERSTOCKER
NEWLAND - Frank Hinterstocker, 67, of Bridge Lane, died Wednesday, 
Sept. 4, 2002 in an Asheville hospital. He was the son of the late 
Frances X. and Mary Dillenkoser Hinterstocker. Former vice-president 
of Manhatten Savings Bank, he was also preceded in death by a sister, 
Hilda Manganello. He was a volunteer at Spruce Pine Community Hospital, 
and also worked with the My Meds program. He served as a board member 
of the Spruce Pine Hospital endowment and was a parishioner of St. 
Lucien Catholic Church.
Survivors inlude his nephews, Michael Manganello of Newland and Frank 
Manganello of New York; a niece, Linda Zulfer of Newland; and seven 
great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Lucien Catholic Church. 
Father Curt Phon officiated. Graveside services were held in Mt. Pleasant, 
NY. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral 
Home in Spruce Pine. Memorial donations may be made to Frank Hinterstocker 
Scholarship Fund, c/o Spruce Pine Hospital Volunteers, 125 Hospital Drive, 
Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
