AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Bessie Lee Leach, 26 Apr 2004

Bessie Lee Leach, 81, Dry Creek Rd., Elizabethton, died Monday, 
April 26, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. 

Mrs. Leach was a native of Avery County, N.C. and was a daughter of 
the late John and Tina West Heilman.
She was a homemaker. 

Mrs. Leach was a member of Zion Baptist Church and had attended Lyon's 
Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay Leach, in 2002 and four 
sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Patti Burleson, Johnson City, and 
Linda Roberts and husband, Carl, Elizabethton; two sons, Johnny Leach 
and wife, Sharon, and Larry Leach and wife, Sally, both of Johnson City; 
eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mrs. Bessie Leach will be conducted Friday, April 
30, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with 
Rev. Arnold Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Home 
National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Roberts, Todd Leach, Shannon 
Leach, C.J. Roberts, Kendall Goines, Jamie Hughes, Cody Roberts and Brian 
Tournmire. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Roberts, Tim Snell and Jerry 
Street. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 29, 2004 from 7 to 
9 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home and at other times at their
