BEN HAYDEN LIPPS

LENOIR - Ben Hayden Lipps, 69, formerly of Avery County, died Wednesday, 
Apr. 9, 2003 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was the son of the 
late Thomas F. and Anna Ray Aldridge Lipps. He was also preceded in 
death by a sister, Laura (Tommie) Rohr. A member of North Catawba 
Baptist Church, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from 
Broyhill.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Harmon Lipps, of the home; daughters, 
Elizabeth (Libby) Parrish of Lenoir and Lisa Louise Coffey Clark of 
Morganton; brothers, Clay, William and Tom Lipps Jr., all of Newland, 
John Frank Lipps of Hickory, Sammie Joe Lipps of Lenoir and Jack Lee 
Lipps of Fayetteville; and sisters, Mary Thomas of Newland, Diane Street 
of Bakersville, Betty Leonhardt of Vale, and Lillian Buckner of Lenoir.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Catawba Baptist 
Church. Revs. John Barnhardt and Victor Bonner officiated. Burial followed 
in Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at Pendry's Funeral Home.
