AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Charlie Hallet Leatherman, 28 Dec 2003

VALE - Charlie Hallet Leatherman, 96, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 
at his home. He was the son of the late Pinkney and Ida Gross 
Leatherman. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy 
Ramsey. He was a self-employed farmer.

Survivors include two sons, Boyd Leatherman of Vale, and Bobby 
Leatherman of Oxford, FL; a daughter, Christine Davis of Vale; a 
brother, Hillard Leatherman of Vale; nine grandchildren; 14 great 
grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stamey Funeral 
Home. Rev. Marcus Redding officiated. Burial was in Bess Chapel 
United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 
6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
