HERB MCCLOUD 

SPRUCE PINE - Herb McCloud died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007. A native of Avery 
County, he was the son of the late Spencer and Reacy McCloud. He was also 
preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Biddix; and a brother, Jack McCloud. He 
was retired from Southern Drill Company.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara McCloud of the home; three sons, Mike, 
David and Mark McCloud; two daughters, Debra Thornberry and Diane Hughes; two 
sisters, Bertie Duncan and Anita Elliott; eight grandchildren; one great-
grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Altapass Baptist Church. The 
Rev. Steve Sisk officiated. Burial followed in Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 4 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the 
church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine assisted the family.
