AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Estelle Carpenter McFee, 10 Feb 2004

NEWLAND - Estelle Carpenter McFee, 73, of Prison Camp Road, died 
Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. She was the 
daughter of the late Wallace and Alma Dellinger Carpenter. She was 
also preceded in death by a brother, Byron Carpenter. A member of 
Pisgah United Methodist Church, she was retired from the Avery 
County School System after 32 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, Coyle McFee Sr. of the home; a 
daughter, Kathy Taylor of Newland; a son, Kennie McFee Jr. of Newland; 
a brother, Melvin Carpenter Jr. of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren; 
and two great grandchildren. 
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pisgah United 
Methodist Church. Revs. Jim Huskins and Phillip McCall officiated. 
Burial was in Pisgah Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 
p.m. Wednesday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
