Nidiffer Frances Pauline Miller Nidiffer, 87, formerly of Elizabethton, passed from death unto life, Saturday, May 20, 2006, at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mrs. Nidiffer was a native of Newland, N.C., and the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Ethel Blalock Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Ralph Nidiffer, a brother, G.C. Miller Jr., and three sisters, Margaret White, Louise Smith and Mildred Welch. Mrs. Nidiffer was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Elizabethton. She was retired from Jiffy Cleaners, where she was a master tailor. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Dottie Nidiffer, Columbia, S.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Hugh Reed, Maryville, Brenda and H.S Taylor, Greensboro, N.C., and Deborah and Jim Bishop, Mountain City; a special son-in-law, Ben Morrell Sr., Johnson City; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Miller, Willoughby, Ohio, and Jackie Miller, Naples, Fla. The family will receive friends at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, Tuesday, May 23, from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Lon Tobin will officiate the 2 p.m. funeral service in the Chapel of Peace, with music under the direction of David Welch. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Benji Morrell, Danny Morrell, Barry Reed, Steve Reed, David Nidiffer, Mark Nidiffer, David Taylor and Clint Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh Reed, H.S. Taylor, Jim Bishop and Ben Morrell Sr. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to their mother's special care team at NHC Healthcare, Johnson City, for their loving attention for the past ten years.
