Pritchard Mildred Shell Pritchard, 91, of Johnson City, formerly of 230 West Doe Avenue, Elizabethton, passed away at her residence Thursday, April 26, 2007. A native of Heaton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late James Oliver Shell and Rose Etta Greer. Mrs. Pritchard was a homemaker and a member of Downtown Christian Church, Johnson City. She was a graduate of Cranberry High School and attended Lees- McRae College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Riley Pritchard, two brothers, James Harold Shell and Homer P. Shell, and a sister, Edith Shell Kyte. Survivors include children and spouses, John Dean and Carol Pritchard, Mt. Airy, Ga., Charles Warren and Brenda Bailes Pritchard, Newland, N.C., Elizabeth Ann Brock, Atlanta, Ga., Cynthia Kay Pritchard, Rowlett, Texas, James Harold and Carol Pritchard, Lancaster, Texas, Joyce Marie and Obie Franklin, Johnson City, Deborah Rose and Thomas Stites, Johnson City, and Barry Keith and Cynthia Pritchard, Johnson City; 24 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Pritchard will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Dr. W. Edward Fine officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or other times at 116 Equianas Via, Johnson City. The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will selected from grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be James Michael Doss, James Riley Pritchard, Dr. Jess Johnson, David Croy, John Love, Steve Lowe and Sam Tuell. Those who prefer in lieu of flowers may make donations to Downtown Christian Church, 335 East Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
