EDWARD SPEAR PHILLIPS JR.

RALEIGH - Edward Spear Phillips Jr., 81, formerly of the Ingalls community, 
died Thursday, June 19, 2003. He was the son of the late Dr. Edward Spear 
Phillips Sr. and Florence Silvers Phillips. He was also preceded in death 
by sisters Betty Sue McGowan and Frieda Rae; and a brother, John Samuel 
Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes Creech of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth 
Carol Ringler of Charlotte; a step daughter, Emerald Stallengs of Wilmington; 
three sisters, Mildred McKinney of Burnsville, Mary Ella Buchanan of 
Fayetteville, and Jean Phillips of Charlotte; two brothers, Tom Phillips of 
Raleigh, and Bill Phillips of Charlotte; two granddaughters; and two great 
grandsons.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. at Burkesville Baptist Church in 
Burkesville, VA on Saturday, Aug. 16.
