AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Donald Pitman, 19 Apr 2005

NEWLAND - Donald Pitman, 70, of the Frank community, died Tuesday, April 19,
2005 in a Linville hospital. He was the son of the late Cling Pitman and
Myrtle Stafford Pitman Mace. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Earline Greene Pitman of the home; daughters,
Penny Buchanan and Donna Phillips, both of Spruce Pine, and Ellen Clark of
Newland; a sister, Sherry Hoilman of Bakersville; nine grandchildren; and two
great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Burial was Friday in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6
p.m. until the service hour Thursday at the church. Webb Funeral Home in
Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
