AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Ernest Edward Parlier, 18 Aug 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Ernest E. Parlier NEWLAND, N.C. -- Ernest Edward Parlier, 76, of Old Beech Mountain, Elk Park, died Monday, August 18, 2003, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center after a long illness. Mr. Parlier was born February 5, 1927 in Avery County. He was the son of the late Cloy and Mary Harmon Parlier and was also preceded in death by a brother, Reuben Parlier, and a sister, Sally Parlier. Mr. Parlier was a Deacon at Fall Creek Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Laura Langendorfer Parlier, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Susan Parlier, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dan Loudermelt, Mill Springs, and Nancy and Bob Johnson, Newland; two brothers, Clint Parlier, Newfane, N.Y., and Troy Parlier, Olcott, N.Y.; and two sisters, Martha Belle Greer, Elizabethton, Tenn., and Carrie Laws, Boone. Ten granddaughters also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Parlier will be conducted at 11 am. Thursday, August 21, at Fall Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Reuben Parlier Jr. and the Rev. Jacob Willis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
