RUTH O. RIDDLE 

MARION - Ruth O. Riddle, 81, of South Garden Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 
2008 at the John F. Keever Solace House in Asheville. A native of Avery 
County, she was the daughter of the late William Marion and Essie Gouge Ollis, 
and wife of the late Fred Riddle. She was a member of First Baptist Church of 
Spruce Pine.

Survivors include one son, David K. Riddle of Asheville; a daughter, Deborah 
Femister of Asheville; three sisters, Betty Ann Silver of Luguna Niguel, 
Calif., Wilma Sue Howell of Albuquerque, N.M., and Helen Cox of Burnsville; 
one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Spruce 
Pine. Dr. David Vess officiated. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Friday at the church. Webb 
Funeral Home in Spruce Pine assisted the family.
