Wilma J. Roberts 


    Wilma J. Roberts, 81, 238 Ollie Collins Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, 
August 3, 2006, at Lutheran Home - Hickory West, Hickory, N.C., following an 
extended illness. 


    Mrs. Roberts was a native of Avery County, N.C. She was a homemaker and a 
member of East Side Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton. 


    Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Ada Bunton, 
a son, Eddie Blackburn, and a daughter, Wilma Alice Angle. 


    Survivors include her husband, L.C. Roberts, of the home; two sons, Robert 
Blackburn and Albert Clay Blackburn, both of Newton, N.C.; and two daughters, 
Mary Jane "Janie" Angle and Elizabeth Tolley, both of Newton, N.C. Several 
grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also 
survive. 


    The funeral service for Mrs. Roberts will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, 
August 6, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Howard 
Messer and Rev. Mark Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends in 
the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The 
graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 7, at 
Colbaugh Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and 
friends. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 
the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Monday. Online condolences may be sent to the family
