TOMMIE LAURA ROHR
NEWLAND - Tommie Laura Rohr, 74, of Little Buck Hill Road, died 
Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 at her home. She was the daughter of the 
late Thomas and Anna Rae Lipps, and wife of the late Thomas Rohr. 
She was a member of Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church, where she was 
secretary/treasurer and Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her sisters, Lillian Buckner of Lenoir, Betty 
Leonhardt of Vale, Mary Thomas of Newland and Diane Street of 
Bakersville; brothers, John Frank Lipps of Hickory, Benjamine 
and Sammie Joe Lipps of Lenoir, Clay, William and Tom Lipps Jr. 
all of Newland, and Jack Lee Lipps of Fayetteville; and several 
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Walnut Grove 
Presbyterian Church. Revs. Gale Lammey and Chris Rathbone 
officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family 
received friends from 1:30 p.m. until the service hour at the 
church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of 
arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Bill Wilkins 
Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Tommy Lipps Jr., 55 Lipps Lane, 
Newland, North Carolina 28657.
