AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Paule Baudoux Roze, 22 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤¤---- PAULE BAUDOUX ROZE NEWLAND - Paule Baudoux Roze, 101, of Jerry's Creek Road, died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Cannon Memorial Hospital. Born in France, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Baudoux and Marguerite Moquet, and wife of the late Alcide Roze. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. After many trips between France and the US, she became a permanent resident in 1978 and lived with her daughter, Christiane Buchanan. A seamstress, she sewed all the altar linens for Saint Lucien Catholic Church in Spruce Pine, where she was a member. Survivors include two daughters, Christiane Buchanan of Roaring Creek, and Paulette Bizon of Courmelles, France; a brother, Albert Baudoux of Courmelles; four grandsons; nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Lucien on June 25 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Kurt Fohn officiating. Burial was in the Roaring Creek Lower Cemetery.
