Elizabethton Star
Arthur Orrin Stanbery was born on November 7, 1882 and died March 4th, 1973. He 
was the son of the late Joshua Senter and Mary Brown Stanbery. Arthur was born 
in the Meat Camp area of Watauga County, NC. He was a farmer and lumberman in 
Watauga, Avery and Caldwell Counties. Arthur owned a dry goods store on Hwy 321 
near Flat Branch Rd. in Avery County. He also operated a farm in the Buntontown 
area of Johnson County, Tennessee. 

He is survived by his wife Bertie Louise Coffey Stanbery and nine children. 
Five sons, Carl, Dallas, Orrin, Wade and Beeler Stanbery. Four daughters, Ada 
Slemp, Edna Fritts, Josie Hardy and Wilma Campbell.

Services will be conducted at the Rock Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 
6th at 2:00 PM. His final resting place will be in the Rock Springs Cemetery.
