Carroll N. Stansbery

   Carroll Nute Stansbery, 69, of Butler, Tenn., Highway 321, died from an 
apparent heart attack Dec. 27.
   A native of Watauga county he had made his home in Johnson county for many 
years.  The son of the late William E. and Eliza Greene Stansbery, he was a 
farmer and member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.
   Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lockie Stansbery, Butler; three sons, 
Ellis, Luther and Hyder Stansbery, all of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Edith 
Stout, Butler, a brother, Henry Stansbery, Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah 
Payne, Butler and Mrs. Chana Bryant, Boone; 14 grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
   Funeral services were conducted from Mountain View Baptist Church Dec. 30 
at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Arnt Greer and Rev. Harold Hayes officiating.  Burial 
was in Payne Cemetery.
