Hazel E. Smith

Hazel Edna Smith, 88, Curtis Creek Road, Elk Park, N.C., died Saturday, 
March 8, 2003, in a Banner Elk nursing facility.
Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late David and Mary Grogan Bailiff.
Mrs. Smith was a nursing assistant at Cannon Hospital for more than 20 
years. She was a member of the Elk Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Branch, Boone, sons David Smith, Elk 
Park, Danny Smith, Morganton, Michael Smith, Elk Park, and J. Harold Smith, 
Elizabethton, Tenn., one sister, Maude Horney, Wytheville, Va., seven 
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Newland, N.C., 828-733-2121, is in charge 
of the arrangements.

SMITH -- Funeral services for Hazel Edna Smith, 88, Curtis Creek Road, 
Elk Park, N.C., who died Saturday, March 8, 2003, will be conducted at 
7 p.m., Sunday, March 9, from the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant 
Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jim Greene and Bob Schultz officiating. 
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Heaton Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be 
made to the patient fund at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. Condolences
