ROSA M. TRIVETT
NEWLAND – Rosa McClellan Trivett, 101, of Bob Taylor Road, died 
Saturday, April 6, 2002 at her home. She was the daughter of the 
late Bob and Lillie Woody McClellan, and wife of the late Sam Trivett. 
She was a homemaker and member of Gouges Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, James, Ruben and Phillip Trivett, all 
of Spruce Pine; two daughters, Maude Thomas of Spruce Pine, and Frances 
Woody of Newland; half brother, Lewis McClellan of Marion; half sister, 
Nettie McClellan of Spruce Pine; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 
and 33 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gouges Creek Baptist 
Church. Revs. Tommy Thomas, Donnie Thomas and Chris Rathbone officiated. 
Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 
6-8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine.
