AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Fenton Harvey Whitlow, 29 jUN 2004

NEWLAND - Fenton Harvey Whitlow, 75, of the Little Buck Hill community, 
died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was 
the son of the late Harvey and Dorothy Whitlow. A member of Walnut Grove 
Presbyterian Church, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Isola Whitlow of the home; 
daughters, Elizabeth Kress of Crossnore, and Carolynn Hawley of High 
Point; a son, Fenton Whitlow of Wakefield, RI; a sister, Harriett 
Newberth of Commack, NY; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. 
Private services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may 
be made to Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o Tom Lipps 
Jr., 55 Lipps Lane, Newland, NC 28657. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine 
was in charge of arrangements.
