AVERY COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Eugene Adam Young, 24 Mar 2005

NEWLAND - Eugene Adam Young, 80, of Cranberry Street, died Thursday, March 24,
2005 at John A. Cannon Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Arnold
and Mollie McKinney Young, and husband of the late Lydia Burleson Young and
the late Louise Bare. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmo Young.
He was a retired repairman with Burleson Plumbing and a veteran of the U.S.
Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Newland.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Sparks Green of Elizabeth City; brothers,
Emmett Young of Drexel and Everett Young of Bessemer City; stepdaughters,
Louise Johnson of Mascoutah, IL, and Tommie Curtis of Knoxville, TN; several
nieces and nephews; and several step-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes
Funeral Home in Bakersville. T.J. Robinson and Bill Jones officiated.
Entombment followed at Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family received
friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
