Petition to President and Council
ca. 1708-1711

North Carolina ss. To the Honorable Thomas Cary Esqr. President and Commander 
in Cheife etc. and the rest of the Honorable Council for the said Government.

The petition of the inhabitants of the precinct of Wickham in the County of 
Bath in most humble manner sheweth that whereas it has been approved of and 
thought fitt to ordain and setle Wickham Precinct aforesaid wee the 
subscribers being inhabitants therein doe humble crave that wee may have a 
Court setled by Act of Assembly as in other precincts for the great ease and 
satisfaction of all the inhabitants most of which being seated very 
inconvenient from Bath Court, and as in duty bound wee shall ever Pray etc.
