The eleventh day of December in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred thirty one, I William Lewis of Bath County in the Province aforesaid, Planter, being in health of body of of good and perfency memory (illegible) but calling to mind my unc***** (illegible) in honor of this transitory (?) life, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testiment in manner and form follows. That is to say: Imprimis I commend my Soul unto the honor of God my Maker knowing assuredly for everlasting Salvation though the merit of my God, the Redeemer Christ Jesus, and my body may be interred in (illegible) of Christian manner in the Earth. Item: I will that all of such (illegible) Debtors as I owe of right or Conscience to any person or persons whatsoever be whole and fully compensated(?) and paid by my Executors herafter named. Item: After my just debts are paid, I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary the full half part off all my Personal Estate to her and her heirs and assigns for ever. Item: To my Daughter Elizabeth Sinclair and to my daughter Mary Dudley having already advance each of these I give to each one shilling. Item: All of (illegible phrase) of my Personal Estate I give and bequeath to be equally divided between my two sons William Lewis and Solomon Lewis on condition that my son William pays to my daughter Magdalen Bigford the Sum of thirty pounds to her and her heirs forever in four months after my Decease and also on the same condition that my son Solomon so pay unto my daughter Edy Benson or her heirs or assigns the Sum of Twenty Pounds in four months after my decease. Item: The Said Sum thirty pounds which my son William is to pay to my Daughter Magdalen I so give and bequeath to her her and heirs forever. Item: The said Sum of twenty pounds which my son Solomon is to pay my daughter Edy I do give and bequeath to her and her heirs forever. Item: Of this my last will and Testament I make my loving wife Mary and my dutyful son William Lewis aforesaid my Executors and I hereby utterly revoke and null to marks all former wills and testaments by me heretofore make and do publish and declare this only to be my last will and testament for witness of whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal.
