All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Kathy Wilde wildekat@hotmail.com November 14, 2005, 12:26 am Source: Transcribed From The Original At Ncdah, Crx Box 167, Hezekiah Pearce Folder Written: October 7, 1808 We the Subscribers Commissioners appointed in the annexed order for laying off to Polly Pearce one of the daughters of Hezekiah Pearce her proportion of the lands belonging to her upon Blounts Creek & which was formerly the property of Benjamin Pearce having met upon the lands with the County surveyor Miles Chance Esquire & having examined them find that a tract containing by estimation one hundred & twenty five acres had formerly been held by Olive, Rachel Mary, Ann & John H. Pearce, that thirty five acres a piece being Lots No. 1 & 2 on the annexed plat had been laid off to Olive & Rachel the two oldest which had by sundry conveyances become the poperty of William Blackledge. We then next proceeded to lay off to the said Mr the ballance of the said tract of land as follows (to wit) Begining at a Stake at the division fence in the field on Blounts Creek & runing So 15 Wt 14 poles, then No. 55 Wt 4 pole to a stake at the persimmon, then So. 64 Wt. 18 poles near the gut in a line with a Sassafras & Catalpa tree at the Creek side, then from the Sassafras No. 70 Wt 6 the back line for thirty five acres being Lot No. 3 on the above plan. Then the ballance we proceeded to lay off into two Lots. No. 4 & 5 as by the annexed plan as follows to wit. Begining at the end of the 18 pole in the upper line of Lot No. 3 & continuing on the Course So. 64 St across the gut 48 pole to a white oak at the mouth of the little fork branch, then No. 70 Wt to the back line for 35 acres then from the White Oak at the mouth of the little Fork branch up the various courses of the little Fork branch around to where the upper line of Lot No. 4 for 35 Acres as per the annexed plat. Lot No. 3 we have valued at twenty five shillings per acre Lot No. 4 we value at twenty shillings per acre. Lot No. 5 at twenty shillings per acre. And we allot & lay of to the petitioner Mary Pearce the Lot Number three adjoining to the two lots hereto for laid off for Olive & Rachel her sisters as her proportion of said lands, & award that she pay to Ann & John H. Pearce equally between them the difference in value between her lot & the two remaining to be divided between them. October the 17th, 1808. his J.H.
